Tell us how and when you met each other. What was your first impression of one another, and at what moment did you know you’d be together forever?
My husband and I met back in 2013 fresh out of high school during our first year of college. It was interesting because after we got talking, we realized that not only did we go to the same middle school, but we also went to the same high school, and we never ran into one another! Our circle of friends knew each other too. As far as first impressions go, we definitely were attracted to one another, physically speaking. One thing that was (and still is) great is that we have always been in constant communication from the moment we met. We always text throughout the day to check on each other and to get to know the other better (we still do, now we send each other TikTok’s). We knew we were in it for the long-haul very early on. We were very transparent about what we wanted and our intentions for our relationship moving forward. We both wanted the same things, so we just planned things out and had fun along the way. Now here we are happily married with our first born who just turned two!
Tell us about the proposal, share some pics, and show us your ring!
My husband, then boyfriend, and I scheduled a cruise to the Bahamas for our anniversary. Towards the end of the cruise, they were taking professional photos on the ship. I had expressed to my boyfriend that I wanted us to dress up and take some fancy photos. The night of our photos, we hopped around and took photos with different photographers throughout the ship. I must note that I did not have my glasses on, so my sight was limited. We head to the last photographer and my boyfriend asks me to wait by the gambling machines while he talks to the photographer. We go and take the photos, and the photographer positions us to take some last shots. The last pose I feel that my boyfriend isn’t close to me, I look at the photographer and he keeps pointing to look behind me. Imagine my surprise when I turn around and see my boyfriend on one knee, shaky voice, asking for my hand! I was in such shock that I picked up the ring to look at it. Once I snapped back to reality, I put it back so he could put it on my finger. The best part about all this you ask? We got photos of the whole thing!
What led you to Stroudsmoor Country Inn? What inspired you to celebrate your wedding with us?
We wanted a venue that had everything in one spot. We shopped around and loved that this venue included everything we needed and had the look we were going for!
What is the one menu item that sticks out above all else from your wedding celebration? What about your favorite décor detail?
Food wise, our cupcakes, but honestly everything was delish, I still have family raving about it years later! Our favorite moment was dancing the night away. Favorite decorations were the king/queen chairs and the bear!
What made your Wedding Journey with us most memorable?
The venue had everything we needed to make it a relatively stress-free experience.
Now that you’ve celebrated your first anniversary, what is the biggest adventure, milestone, memory, etc. that you’ve shared with your partner since your Stroudsmoor wedding?
Definitely having our first child and traveling around with her!
