"We've had time now to decompress and reflect on the beautiful day at Stroudsmoor. I want to personally and sincerely thank you for all you did over the past year (plus!) to make the day so special. Your reassurances throughout the process, calm efficiency on the day, and thoughtfulness for all our guests was very much appreciated. I wish you well, and hope our paths may cross again in the future."
Kaitlyn and Jonathan were married on a clear summer’s day in the wrought iron gazebo that sits at the edge of the mountain ridge, offering remarkable views of the Cherry Valley Wildlife Sanctuary below, and vistas stretching from Delaware Water Gap to Wind Gap and beyond.
How and where you did you meet?
We met at Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2009.
What were your first impressions of each other?
I thought he was a nice friendly guy, was friends with our original group of college friends and our friendship evolved into a relationship in early 2010. He thought I was down to earth, nice and friendly.
Tell us about the proposal?
He proposed at Love Park in Philadelphia in front of the Love Park sign in February 2020, right before the pandemic hit.
Why did you chose Stroudsmoor for your wedding celebration?
I fell in love with Ridgecrest when I saw it. Jon could not be there but I knew right away it was the place, and Jon would trust my decision. I had originally been to Stroudsmoor for a wedding a few years ago at one of their other venues and knew they had multiple options. When I saw the breathtaking views at Ridgecrest I was sold immediately. No where else can you have an amazing view like and a reception space was so charming, with a large indoor and outdoor space for entertaining all of our friends and family.
What was the one wedding detail you loved the most?
The wedding detail I loved the most is hard to pick because everything came out beautifully. However, I think the detail I loved the most was the piece of lace taken off of my mother’s wedding dress from 38 years ago and attached it to my wedding bouquet.
What was the favorite food or beverage detail about your wedding menu?
It’s hard to pick a favorite food and beverage as I swear I ate close to nothing all weekend, most likely due to nerves and excitement. I heard from all of our guests though that the food was wonderful. The pretzel bar at the end was also a nice touch.
What was a favorite moment from your wedding day at Stroudsmoor?
One of my favorite moments from the day was arriving to the bridal sweet in Ridgecrest early and walking through the reception room while it was empty to see the whole vision from the last year and a half come to life. Everything turned out amazing and I cannot say enough great things about Linda and her staff. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and the day ran smoothly. Everyone told me the day would go by fast and it unfortunately did. I will recommend Stroudsmoor to anyone looking for a wedding venue, as it is truly a wonderful experience and made the whole wedding planning process a breeze.
“I also wanted to take the time to thank you generously for all your guidance and help throughout the whole wedding process. It’s sad to think it’s all over with. Everything came together so beautifully and I couldn’t have imagined a better day for us.
You and your team work wonders and I’m so grateful for choosing Stroudsmoor (Ridgecrest) for our big day-it was breathtaking!!
I wish you well and definitely plan to come in the future for an anniversary stay and will be sure to pop in and say hello.”
Take care always, Kaitlyn Netter
