The Poconos has long been touted the “Honeymoon Capital of the East” – once filled with heart-shaped tubs, Champagne bathing towers and a plethora of honeymoon resorts. But, like its mountains, the Pocono Region has evolved and is now a Destination Wedding Mecca.
Couples travel from near and far to celebrate their union atop these majestic mountains, overlooking Pennsylvania’s newest 30,000 acres of Wildlife Sanctuary, standing in front of Bushkill or Buttermilk Falls, lifted to the top of Shawnee or Camelback Ski Mountains, gathered along the edge of the Delaware River or strolling to a grove on the acres and acres known as Penn’s Woods – all enhanced by the availability of numerous guest accommodations, event venues, quality entertainment and fine foods.

A walk to the altar through a Wisteria-cover trellis into the secret garden called the Auradell Grotto. Here they repeat their vows surrounded by forest, overlooking the town of Stroudsburg. After the first kiss, and another, and another, the couples move onto their cocktail hour in the Hearthside Suite and Solarium of Auradell – the hour is passed enjoying conversation with their closest friends, signature cocktails and an outstanding variety of hors d’oeuvres.
The Reception begins with introductions into the Gallery at Auradell, where guests are surrounded by works from some of the finest artists in the Pocono Region. Dinner is enhanced with the pairing of beers (or wines) and of course the Champagne flows all evening.
