Christine Zavaskas and Michael Marcos – April 29, 2017 – Ridgecrest
Ridgecrest Pocono Wedding Venue
How and where you and Michael met
On a blind date, introduced by a friend, at a ball game, etc . . . and any courtship or engagement photos you would be willing to share Michael and I met online and our first date was coffee at Barnes & Noble. We immediately felt comfortable with each other and talked for hours.
What silly little thing made you fall in love – or what your impression of Michael was at first sight
A few months into our relationship I got really sick for Valentine’s Day. Michael was willing to just sit by me while I rested and do whatever he could think of to make me feel better. We just ordered Chinese take-out and hung out at home, but somehow it was still perfect. He just quickly became the best part of my day, the person I always wanted to talk to about what was going on, and someone I respected and admired so much. All of that made me realize I loved him.
How he proposed – and how you said YES
Michael proposed December 13, 2015. Our families always get together for the holidays and do a Yankee Swap gift exchange, where everyone brings a wrapped gift, then we draw numbers and number one picks a gift, and number two can steal their gift or pick a new one, etc. Michael rigged the game with the help of everyone else so that I would get the last number and the last gift was the ring. I was completely surprised, and it was so amazing having both of our families there for that special moment. I was so impressed when I found out how much work Michael put into picking out the ring and coordinating the whole proposal.
Why you chose Stroudsmoor for your wedding celebration
We chose Stroudsmoor because we thought the venue was beautiful and different from the typical reception hall. We love the outdoors and nature and liked that our ceremony could be outside and the reception could flow both indoors and outdoors, with big windows in the ballroom. For us it was a good mix of the beauty of the outdoors, with the comfort and convenience of indoors.
A message about your wedding day – the experience, something you will never forget . . . and photos of the day which will come later of course!
Leading up to the wedding, and I expect even more on the day of, I think Michael and I both feel just so lucky and blessed. We are blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends supporting us, to be able to enjoy such as special day in our lives with those who love us, and most of all – blessed to start our marriage together. Of course we are also looking forward to the culmination of lots of hard work and all the fun little details that we hope our guests enjoy – we want them to have just as much fun as us!
Message from the bride:
“Michael and I wanted to thank you for a truly amazing wedding! Everything went even better than we could have hoped and we had the best day. You and your staff were exceptional and we greatly appreciate all the hard work that went into every piece of it. I can’t tell you how many people told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and we feel the same of course :)”
