Married August 24, 2024 at Terraview

Tell us how and when you met each other. What was your first impression of one another, and at what moment did you know you’d be together forever?

Drew and I first met in July 2020 while he was stationed in Delaware. We became best friends from day one. All of our friends and family have supported us through most of our relationships being long distance. We only got to see each other twice a month when we first started dating. Right before our one year, Drew found out that he was being transferred to Paducah, KY. This meant our relationship was going to an even longer distance while I finished my master’s degree. Drew made me a promise the day before he left that in exactly a year, he would be here to move me to Kentucky with him. We made a promise that we would stay strong for that year. Well, fast forward a year later, and we moved me 13 hours away from everyone. This was the real test of our relationship and future since we were alone with no family or friends. We learned to work as a team and that we had each other no matter what. Drew and I began to talk about marriage and our future once he found out that he had advanced in his career with the United States Coast Guard. He told me we would need to move by next summer after we were finally settling into our lives in Kentucky. So we sat down together and decided which job locations we wanted to put on his list for where we could move. My only requirement this time was that we be within at least 5 hours of family.

Tell us about the proposal, share some pics, and show us your ring!

Drew decided it was time to pop the question when we found out where we were moving. The day before my birthday, Drew got the email about where we were being transferred to. We both were excited to see it was Cape May, NJ, right by family! Drew had already planned a birthday trip to Saint Louis, MO, to see the arch that weekend. He decided that he was going to propose on that trip. Well, I will admit that I did not want to go on that trip at all. I kept telling him to cancel the hotel and that we weren’t going. LOL, poor Drew. Sorry, Drew. I am so glad we went on that trip now. He pulled off the surprise of a lifetime after telling me that it wouldn’t happen for at least another 6 months to a year.

What led you to Stroudsmoor Country Inn? What inspired you to celebrate your wedding with us?

The recommendation by my mom, who works in the wedding industry. It came highly recommended! We fell in love with the venue. Drew loves the woods and I grew up going to my grandma’s Pocono house! We visited and fell in love with Terraview and we felt like family working with Linda!

What is the one menu item that sticks out above all else from your wedding celebration? What about your favorite décor detail?

Our favorite item was the fried gouda mac and cheese bite! Favorite décor detail was the florals on our cake. We loved the vintage pickup truck rental for our photos.

What made your Wedding Journey with us most memorable?

That Linda was there every step of the way. She made the wedding process a breeze and made our wedding into our dream day.

What is one hope you have in celebrating your first anniversary?

To continue the excitement from our wedding day and continue to grow as a couple!
